Hashtag Reused Magnets

You can reuse old magnets to create fun new ones! I picked up some old magnets at the Reuse Centre, but I'm sure you've got a nice collection of your own. Local professionals and businesses like to give these to you as freebies. If you're not careful, these magnets can junk up your refrigerator. But you can change that so easily!

What you'll need:

-flat magnets or magnet sheets
-paper of your choice
-glue (Sorry, all my pictures have white glue in them. Rubber cement works better!)
-pen/pencil
-scissors or exacto knife

First, glue the paper and magnet together by applying rubber cement to both surfaces. Don't worry if your paper isn't the perfect size - you can trim it later!

Once things are completely dry, trace or draw your design onto the papered side of your magnet. I chose a fun 'hashtag' design.

Using scissors and/or an exacto knife, cut out your design. I used a scissors and exacto knife combo: scissors for the large outside parts, and a knife for the tricky inside cuts.

Congrats, you're finished! Wouldn't it be fun to create some other punctuation mark magnets? Don't you think they'd fit well with your alphabet magnets and family photos? Think of the possibilities!
