What you’ll need:
- blank tea towel like this Ikea TEKLA towel (only 69 cents!)
- embroidery floss
- needle
- water soluble pen or light pencil
- scissors
- embroidery hoop
- PDF "tea bag" pattern
The first step is to wash your towel! It will shrink a bit and it's nice to get that done with before you start adding little cute stitches.
Use the pattern I've provided for you here, and trace it onto your towel. The Ikea TEKLA towel is fairly light/transparent, so it makes tracing the pattern quite simple.
Use whatever colours you'd like and use a backstitch to complete the project. I had to convince myself to use embroidery floss colours other than red. I just can't stay away from it! I've got red accents scattered around my apartment and I just want more!
What projects are you working on this weekend?
