The Brooklyn Art Library houses the Sketchbook Project. Thousands of people from around the world fill sketchbooks and submit them to the Sketchbook Project collection. Then, people can 'check-out' sketchbooks (like a library), at the Brooklyn Art Library. They also take sketchbooks on tour around North America in case you can't make it to Brooklyn.
I decided to participate in the 2014 Sketchbook Project.
I was thrilled to be participating, but I must admit: I was TERRIFIED! Drawing is one of my under-developed skills, but it is a skill I want to improve. Despite my enthusiasm, I procrastinated until 2 weeks before I needed to mail in my sketchbook. Eek! Why do I do that?!
I am pleased to announce that the 2014 Sketchbook Project, which includes my humble little book has officially started it's tour. Right now you can view it at the Brooklyn Art Library, but then it's going to travel around the continent, including two cities in Canada! Yay Canada! Maybe you'll have the chance to check it out?
Don't worry if you won't be able to make it to one of these cities in person. You can also view my sketchbook online. Warning: Clicking this link may result in 4 hours of browsing through sketchbooks!
How have you challenged or stretched yourself creatively?
